Breast augmentation
Why it is done
Breast augmentation improves the size and shape of the bust seeking a figure in balance with the rest of the body — not a catalogue volume. Performed in the operating room with implants selected for each anatomy, or with your own fat, it is one of the highest-satisfaction surgeries when indication and planning are right.
The reasons repeat themselves: naturally small breast development, volume loss after pregnancies and breastfeeding — the ‘deflated’ upper pole —, changes after major weight loss, and visible asymmetries between breasts.
Techniques
The standard: latest-generation prostheses placed in the plane and route your anatomy asks for. Predictable, lasting volume and cleavage projection.
A moderate, 100% natural augmentation using fat harvested by WAL liposuction — no foreign bodies, double contour benefit.
The implant provides structure and your fat softens edges and cleavage for a natural feel. The house specialty.
When volume loss comes with droop, the right operation is a lift with augmentation: raising and filling in a single surgery.
Before surgery
Your consultation starts with a thorough assessment of your anatomy and goals, followed by a photographic study used to plan the procedure and compare your results later on.
Practical points for every breast surgery: arrive at a stable weight, with breastfeeding finished months ago if applicable; have your medication reviewed (blood thinners are usually paused beforehand, with your doctor); and stop smoking. When age or history indicates it, a breast imaging study is completed first.
Size is chosen by proportion, not bra letters: breast base, thorax and height are measured, and volumes are tried on at the consultation. Implant shape — round or anatomical — is decided by your tissue and the look you seek.
The pre-operative tests and the anaesthesia assessment are completed at Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital.
Recovery
Recovery from breast augmentation is faster than most patients expect when instructions are followed. The realistic calendar:
Pressure and tightness rather than pain, managed with prescribed analgesia. Post-op bra from day one; sleep on your back.
Most patients resume light daily activity, with close follow-up at check-ups.
Light exercise without impact (walking, legs, static work).
Impact exercise — running, weights — with a proper sports bra, once confirmed at review.
The implant settles, the breast adopts its natural drop and scars mature: the definitive result.
Scars
The most common route is the inframammary fold: a few centimetres hidden under the breast, invisible in bras and bikinis. Periareolar and axillary routes exist for specific cases; the choice is reasoned with you at consultation.
Pink at first, the scar matures into a fine line over months; care and SPF make the difference.
Surgical honesty
Creams, pills or devices do not enlarge breasts: no serious shortcut exists. The only implant-free route is your own fat — and that is surgery too.
An implant on a drooping breast drags it lower. If the nipple has descended, the right operation is a lift — or a lift with augmentation.
They are long-lasting devices, not eternal: periodic checks are advisable and a future replacement is part of informed consent — said here before surgery.
The routes and planes used preserve the gland: most patients can breastfeed, and breast screening continues normally — just mention the surgery.
Patient information
Every surgery carries risks and this one is no exception. You will go through them in detail during your consultation and in writing in the informed-consent form; this is the honest summary.
Expected — not a complication
Uncommon
When to wait. Recent breastfeeding, imminent pregnancy plans or an unstable weight are reasons to postpone. And expectations are discussed plainly: the goal is proportion, not a photo of someone else.

Price
As a market reference, breast augmentation in Spain ranges between €4,500 and €7,000 depending on technique, implant type and centre. Dr. Padilla’s quote is closed and personal after assessment: it includes the operating room and hospital stay at Quirónsalud Málaga, anaesthesia, implants, aftercare and every follow-up visit in the first year. No surprises halfway.
About cheap offers. You will see plenty. Our honest advice: research and choose your surgeon first, and only then compare prices — never the other way round.
FAQS
Implants give the most predictable, stable volume; fat transfer gives a moderate but completely natural result — and both can be combined (hybrid technique) for a soft, natural feel. Your anatomy and goals decide.
By proportion, not catalogue: your breast base, thorax and height are measured and volumes are tried on at the consultation. The goal is balance with your body.
Rounds fill the upper pole more and keep their shape even if they rotate; anatomicals give a very natural profile but demand precise pocket planning. The decision is measured, not fashion-driven.
In most cases yes: the routes and planes used preserve the gland and ducts. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so — it influences the technique.
Modern implants are long-lasting but not lifelong: periodic reviews are advisable, and a future replacement or removal is part of the informed decision.
The anaesthetic protocol is decided at your consultation, with the assessment of the anaesthesia team at Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital as part of the pre-operative workup.
