Why it happens

Motherhood leaves its mark; it need not stay

Pregnancy and breastfeeding transform the body on three fronts at once: the abdomen (stretched skin and separated muscles — diastasis), the breast (deflated or dropped after nursing) and fat, redistributed where it never was. None of the three fully responds to the gym, because they are tissue problems, not fitness problems.

The Mommy Makeover was born exactly for this: combining in a single operation the abdominal, breast and contour corrections each body needs. One surgery, one recovery.

The protocol

What your Mommy Makeover can combine

1

Abdomen

Tummy tuck with diastasis repair: excess skin gone, abdominal wall repaired, scar under the bikini line.

2

Breast

Lift (mastopexy) with or without implants, depending on droop, deflation or both.

3

Contour

WAL liposuction of flanks, back or hips, and fat transfer where it adds. The touch that unifies the result.

4

Tailor-made

No two Mommy Makeovers are alike: only the procedures your body asks for are combined, health status permitting.

Before surgery

Consultation and pre-operative workup

Your consultation starts with a thorough assessment of your anatomy and goals, followed by a photographic study used to plan the procedure and compare your results later on.

Practical points that apply to every surgery: arrive at a stable weight, have your medication reviewed (antiplatelets and anticoagulants are usually paused beforehand, always together with your doctor) and stop smoking well in advance.

Timing matters: wait at least 6 months after finishing breastfeeding, with your weight stabilised. And if you plan more pregnancies, the honest advice is to wait — a new pregnancy would undo the results.

The pre-operative tests and the anaesthesia assessment are completed at Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital.

Recovery

Recovery, week by week

Combined surgery has one advantage: a single recovery instead of two or three. And every mother’s key question — when can I lift my children? — has a clear answer.

First 48–72 hours

Discomfort controlled with analgesia; abdominal binder and post-op bra from day one. Having help at home these days is golden.

Weeks 1–3

No lifting — children included. Quiet home life, walks, check-ups.

From one month

Loads return progressively: your children in your arms, full routine and work. The body asks for it naturally.

Months 2–3

Progressive exercise as cleared; abdominals last.

3–6 months

Definitive result with the swelling gone: flat abdomen, breast in place, unified contour.

Scars

Where they sit and how they evolve

The tummy-tuck scar hides below the bikini line; breast scars depend on the technique (periareolar, vertical or T), always seeking the most discreet option; liposuction marks are millimetres in folds. All mature from pink to fine lines over the first year.

Surgical honesty

What the Mommy Makeover does not do

01

It is not a fixed package

Not everyone needs everything: only the procedures your body asks for are combined. Sometimes the honest answer is a single surgery — or none yet.

02

Not between pregnancies

A later pregnancy would undo the results. It is recommended once the family feels complete.

03

It does not replace weight loss

Surgery works on a stabilised weight: pending kilograms come first, surgery finishes what the scales cannot.

04

It is not for right after birth

Tissues need time: at least 6 months after breastfeeding ends. Haste is paid for in results.

Patient information

Risks and contraindications

Every surgery carries risks and this one is no exception. You will go through them in detail during your consultation and in writing in the informed-consent form; this is the honest summary.

Expected — not a complication

  • Combined discomfort from the treated areas the first days.
  • Swelling evolving at different speeds in abdomen and breast.
  • More tiredness than single surgery: the body is healing several areas at once.

Uncommon

  • Abdominal seroma needing drainage.
  • Occasional delayed healing points.
  • Minor touch-ups in one of the areas.

Safety rules: combined surgery demands good health and a full hospital environment. If the pre-op assessment recommends splitting the procedures, they are split.

Price

Mommy Makeover price in Málaga

The price depends on the procedures combined — and therein lies its logic: one combined surgery shares operating room, anaesthesia and hospital stay, costing less than the sum of separate surgeries. Closed quote after consultation, covering hospital costs at Quirónsalud Málaga, aftercare and follow-up.

About cheap offers. You will see plenty. Our honest advice: research and choose your surgeon first, and only then compare prices — never the other way round.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions about the Mommy Makeover

How long after giving birth should I wait?

At least 6 months after finishing breastfeeding, with your weight stabilised — operating earlier means working on tissues that are still changing.

Can everything really be done in one surgery?

Yes — that is the point of the protocol, provided your health assessment allows it: abdomen, breast and liposuction in one session, one anaesthesia, one recovery.

When can I carry my children again?

No lifting for the first 2–3 weeks; from one month you progressively return to carrying them and to full routine.

Does it include diastasis repair?

Yes, whenever it exists: repairing the separated muscles is part of the tummy tuck included in the protocol — and one of the most frequent reasons to consider it.

What anaesthesia is used?

The anaesthetic protocol is decided at your consultation, with the assessment of the anaesthesia team at Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital as part of the pre-operative workup.
