Why operate
An excessively large breast — gigantomastia — is not an aesthetic issue: it is a daily physical load. The weight pulls on the spine causing neck, shoulder and back pain; bra straps dig grooves; friction and moisture under the fold cause recurrent irritation; and sport becomes an obstacle course.
Add what does not show: clothes that never fit, hunched posture, constant discomfort. Breast reduction has one of the highest satisfaction rates in surgery because the patient feels the difference the day she wakes up: literally, a weight off her chest.
The technique

Tissue is removed while preserving the areola’s blood supply and nerves — the key to keeping sensation in most cases.
From 300 grams to over a kilo per breast in gigantomastia, with the remaining breast reshaped.
The areola is reduced if needed and repositioned at the point of maximum projection: every reduction carries a built-in lift.
Before surgery
Your consultation starts with a thorough assessment of your anatomy and goals, followed by a photographic study used to plan the procedure and compare your results later on.
Practical points for every breast surgery: arrive at a stable weight, with breastfeeding finished months ago if applicable; have your medication reviewed (blood thinners are usually paused beforehand, with your doctor); and stop smoking. When age or history indicates it, a breast imaging study is completed first.

Recovery

Scars
Depending on the volume removed, the scar is periareolar with a vertical line (lollipop pattern) or adds a fold incision (anchor pattern) in large reductions. All sit where bras and bikinis cover them.
Pink at first, with post-operative care they mature into fine, well-concealed lines.
Surgical honesty
Gland, fat and skin are removed and the breast reshaped. Aspirating fat alone neither solves true hypertrophy nor corrects droop.
Routine checks and imaging continue normally after surgery — always mentioning the previous operation.
Grams, not kilograms: the goal is proportion, lightness and postural health, not the scale.
The result is lasting, but the breast keeps living: proper support and stable weight protect it long-term.
